On the edge of the Bay Area the vineyard sits at the confluence of the San Juaquin and Sacramento rivers and grows in 50+ feet of pure, fine sand. Hot days and cool nights thanks to the rivers. It is a blend of 72% zinfandel and 28% Carignan. The vines were planted on their own roots in 1888. Once a sea of vineyards, it is now surrounded by a power plant, strip malls, and subdivisions.

So fragrant and fresh, with bright cherry, raspberry and boysenberry fruit and deeper notes licorice, cinnamon, black pepper, and the umami of the sand. Ideal natural acidity, with soft and silky tannins. This wine is just so juicy and delicious its hard to stop wanting to drink it right now. But, it will continue to evolve for 20+ years. It will be so fun to taste this wine evolve over time. I see it only getting better.
